If you're shopping for a new vehicle, the market is full of options. Finding an affordable, fuel-efficient vehicle that’s easy to drive. With the rise in popularity of crossover SUVs, many people are opting for the crossovers. So which vehicle is right for you? If you’re asking yourself that, we can help you at Rome Pre-Owned!

Know Your Needs

The first thing you should do is determine your vehicle needs. Whether it’s fuel efficiency, a low price tag, tech features or practicality, knowing what you need is one of the most important steps in car shopping. By making a list of everything you need before you Rome Pre-Owned, the options will seem less overwhelming.

Differences and Similarities with Crossovers and Sedans

Despite being two different types of vehicles, crossovers and sedans are quite similar. They are both much more affordable than trucks or full-size SUVs, and it’s not hard to find a crossover or sedan that comes standard with features like a backup camera, Bluetooth® and excellent safety technology. In addition, many crossovers and sedans share the same engines and have similar handling.

However, one of the biggest and most obvious differences is cargo capacity. For example, the Ford Espace offers you up to 65.4 cubic feet of cargo space, while in the Ford Fusion, you’ll only find 16 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. If you plan on carrying a lot of items, you’ll want a crossover.

Another difference is fuel efficiency. Crossovers, while more practical, don’t quite compete with sedans in this category. Crossovers get up to 29 MPG, but the 2019 Fiesta gets up to 35 MPG.

But, like cargo space, when it comes to versatility, crossovers have the advantage. Most can be purchased with optional all-wheel drive (AWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD), something that’s very hard to find in a sedan.

So Which One Should I Buy?

Choosing between a crossover or a sedan depends solely on your needs and you want to spend. There’s no right or wrong answer here. Do your homework, schedule some test drives and find the ride that best suits you and your needs.
